Vijnana Yoga is practicing, feeling and understanding from the inside, build on the 7 following principles: relaxing the body, quietening the mind, intent, rooting, connecting, breathing and expending. All levels are welcome !
Nelle – came in 2006 in contact with Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga during her first dance education. Since 2009, she started practicing on a regular basis. In 2012, Renee Copraij introduced her to Vijnana Yoga and has been sharing her practice with dance colleagues. In 2015, she initiated with An Mertens a meditation movement and weekly gathering named SJFN. In July 2017, she enrolled in a Vijnana Yoga Teacher Training, a three year course of 800 academic hours with Orit Sen-Gupta, founder of Vijnana Yoga. ‘Vijnana’ is when inner clarity is revealed through personal experience.
Hatha Yoga with Roz
Hatha / Flow classes focus on building strong foundations in the yoga postures. We take advantage of moving with the breath to warm up the body and find a sense of ease and fluidity. We often use a yoga block or strap to support and strength the body in different asanas. All levels are welcome!
Roz – discovered her passion for yoga through her career as a contemporary dancer. She undertook Ashtanga training with John Henson in Perth (2009). Roz’s classes give focus to developing postural alignment. In class she uses props to discover and identify body sensations which deepen our understanding of the yoga asanas. She also makes use of imagery and detailed anatomical cues to develop our knowledge of the body. |
