Julia E. Dyck creates a space for transformations. Through sound, sculpture, video and performance, the exhibition space becomes a fantastical center for aesthetic transformation and care – a dwelling that takes the body outside of itself and subjects it to unfamiliar impressions and orientations.
Julia E. Dyck (1989, Winnipeg CA) is an artist and radio producer originally from Treaty One Territory/ Winnipeg who currently works and lives between Brussels and Montreal/Tiohtià:ke. Dyck’s relational and speculative practice explores the possible connections between the body, consciousness, technology and the environment through performance, composition, installation and transmission. Julia often works collaboratively as a member of artistic duos Future Perfect and Platitudes as well as the ffiles radio collective.
For the finissage, the artist will perform sound pieces and offer haircuts for the audience.
With the kind support of Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles & Canadan Council. of the Arts.
