Hugo Mega | Epiphytin

Thursday – Monday | June 28 – July 2 | Epiphytin |Cunst-link

“An epiphyte is an organism that grows on the surface of a plant and derives its moisture and nutrient from the air, rain and debris accumulating around it. Epiphytes differ from parasites because epiphytes grow on our plants for physical support and do not necessarily negatively affect the host.”

Epiphytin is a visual installation performance, reflecting on the duality of parasitic and symbiotic lifestyles. It is an opportunity to appreciate and embody the qualities of these plants. It is an invitation to gain perspective on the role we play in the environment.

Epiphytin reflects a desire to bring our consciousness into a more epiphyte lifestyle.
